Otivm
Otivm, Milan's most metaphysical restaurant, echoes the surreal and revolutionary spirit of Giorgio De Chirico in its finishes, playing with the potential of porcelain stoneware and revisiting classics. With his revolutionary painting that merges everyday life with myth, ancient past with pure modernity, Giorgio De Chirico has influenced not only art and the surrealist movement that followed him but also various other fields, from poetry to fashion, including design, of course. And even today, the works of the Italian painter remain a constant source of inspiration, which recently came to life in a new restaurant in Milan, Otivm. Located on Via Gaetano Negri, at the corner with Via Santa Maria Segreta, in the heart of the Lombard metropolis, the approximately 400 square meter space was conceived by N+M Design Studio, which designed the interiors of Otivm in relation to the architecture by Giò Ponti that houses them. Here, the architects and designers of the studio have created a venue that disrupts classical architectural standards to give life to new forms reminiscent of the canons of Giorgio De Chirico's metaphysical painting: a work that has blended the principles of interior design with purely architectural ones, staging a strong theatrical and surreal atmosphere that finds its maximum expression in the choice of cladding surfaces, from floors to walls.
